Anything going on in or near Dallas between 1st october & 14th October 2009?

Goin on holiday near Dallas (Southlake I think it is) to visit relatives on 1st October 2009 until 14th October. Is there anything at all, anyone could recommend going to see or do. i.e. theme park water park, malls etc. Just the usual tourist things. Was hoping to maybe see an american football game, baseball game etc. game or any other american things like, monster trucks, speedway etc. Dates of any events would be very helpful. Any other ideas on sightseeing would be great.
