What system would you choose for kids?

I am wanting to get a video game system for my son. He is turning four and loves to play on my old Nintendo NES, 64, and the original Playstation 1. I was wanting to get him a new system and was wondering what system would be best for his age now and the next few years to come. As you can see I used to play games but that is when I was a kid so I am so out of the date with any of the new systems. I have never played any of them to know a difference between them.

What system has the best games for kids? Also who has a line of controllers that fit his hands better? I notice he has a harder time with the Nintendo 64 remote vs. the playstation. I notice that playstation has different GB so I am guessing you download games on the playstation. I think 160 and 300 something . If I get a playstation should I get the higher GB or is that an overkill for us.

He don't like kiddy games too much. He plays on my iphone all the time and always plays grown up games. He loves racing, pet games, easy platform games. I need games that are fun but not so hard he can't play them. He has a lot of skill for his age but he's only 3 as of now. I hate to admit it but he has a monster truck game on my phone and he can beat me at it. I was trying to pass a level and he was watching me and said let me try. First time he passed. Made me feel old. I don't play games a whole lot but have plenty of time under my belt and I couldn't believe he could pass it and I couldn't.

Any advise would be appreciated. If you have any good game suggestions for me would be nice to. He likes racing and things blowing up but has to have easy mode so he can play. Thanks.|||Any new system is overkill for your son. Stick with what you have, and if you really want something new get him a used PS2 off craigslist. They are DIRT cheap (like 80 bucks with 2 controllers and 5 games sort of cheap). If you really want to spoil your son with brand new stuff though, how about getting him something to expand his mind, and education with instead.|||Wii is geared towards adolescents more than any other console. Adults, myself included, enjoy them too but, Wiis are for kids.|||for that age, probably the wii|||Can I have your NES? Get a wii|||Ds sounds like the way to go|||I would recommend the Nintendo 3DS, which is coming out in a couple of months, but its screen can have damaging effects to kids under 12 years old. Instead, I would hands-down get an iPod Touch (The 5th generation Touch will be available this June or July). Your kid is a bit too young for a console; at this age he should be spending more time outside than inside.

The iPod Touch is good for this balance between screen-time and outside-time because its games are much easier to pick up for smaller amounts of time compared to the Wii. It will cost a lot less than the Wii as well. By the time I had traded in mine for an XBox 360, I had spent over $1000 in games, whereas I had spent only $100 in games for my Touch. There are huge amounts of games available for the iPod Touch, and he will never be lacking things to do on it; in fact the device will evolve with his age, as he matures to action games and later strategy games or shooters.

You also mentioned that you had an iPhone, so that means you could legally import the games you'll let him have from your device to his for free. Also, the Touch is much smaller than anything currently made by Nintendo, Microsoft, or Sony, so his hands will fit fine from now to when they're full-grown.

I think you'll be very satisfied with this purchase, because your kid will get to have fun at home or in the car going to vacation for a fraction of the cost and time of other platforms.|||This one is the best wii games.

Another good system that they really like playing is the Wii, but if you would prefer a more portable option, then go for the DS. Their favourite games are from the Mario series - you should get Mario Kart for the DS and/or Wii as they absolutely love that game, and I see that your son likes racing games too.|||make him play some real (outdoor) games.

video games at so early age means.

aggressive behavior (may not be completely true , but still, there is a chance)

cuts down his physical activity.

he grows more in protective instincts and attacking instincts if he continues to play the games like the ones u mentioned.

u would much well want your son to be intelligent and smart. chose such games. i am sure he will like them too.i do not know anyone as such.

take my advice only if u want your kid not to get old soon and lazy around your couch.

your actions now will decide how his life is going to be.

KIDS LEARN VERY FAST WHEN THEY ARE THIS YOUNG. ITS WITH YOU, WHAT U WANT YOUR KID TO LEARN .......

VIDEO GAMES IS A GOOD IDEA ONLY WHEN HE HAS NOTHING BETTER TO LEARN OR DO.

ignore me if your son does not fall into the category of kids i am talking about.

wishing him all the best.......
